Interns collaborate on projects highlighting issues such as climate change, pollution, and community resilience, amplifying the voices of marginalized communities through impactful storytelling. Interns are placed with five leading community-based organizations working in the heart of cancer alley, Louisiana. - Collaborative Projects
Interns work on real-world projects in partnership with DSCEJ and LKQ. These include creating public awareness campaigns, documenting community initiatives, and producing multimedia content that supports the mission of environmental and social equity. - Professional Development Opportunities
In addition to technical training, the internship offers networking opportunities, resume building, and mentorship from experienced leaders in media and environmental justice. Interns are equipped with the tools to excel in their future careers. - Community Engagement
A core component of the program involves engaging directly with communities to understand their needs and experiences. This helps interns create authentic, people-centered media that drives change.
